Kellie’s restraint. She doesn’t crowd rooms with
furniture and keeps all but favorite pieces of her
collections behind closed doors.
Subtle repetition of blue connects room with
room and old with new. Chairs in the breakfast
nook are upholstered in toile, but in playful
turquoise. Abstract paintings and graphic pillows
pick up on the blues of the Asian pottery found in
just about every room.
The result? Understated, budget-friendly
elegance. Patrick Tandy, Kellie’s friend and the
designer who helped her, sums it up, “We just
made a sweet little house stylish, without
spending a mint.”
